Chagrin Valley Golf Academy
Whether you are experiencing the game for the first time, are an accomplished tournament player, or land somewhere in between, the golf professionals at Chagrin Valley Country Club can design an improvement program to fit your game. Whether through one-on-one lessons, clinics, on-course instruction or on-line tips, our team has all the tools, experience and resources to take you and your family’s golf game to the next level.
In addition, our practice areas offer many of the facilities you’d expect of a distinguished Club such as ours. We feature a range with both natural and synthetic turf practice areas, a short practice hole, well-manicured putting and chipping greens as well as indoor lesson spaces available throughout the winter.
With our beautiful course and policy of no tee times, the Academy is the best way to ensure you’re getting the most out of your game and your membership at CVCC.
Some of our programs include:
Personalized Instructional Programs:
Available for all ages and skill levels
Once a golfer commits to taking lessons from one of the Golf Professionals, a comprehensive interview is conducted to see what the golfer wants to achieve. An instructional program is then designed around each individual and the amount of time he or she can spend improving their game based on their personal schedule.
Junior Golf Program:
Chagrin Valley Golf Academies using Operation 36 Framework:
Available for Junior Golfers, Ages 7-18, and Ladies of all skill levels
Operation 36 is a nationwide program that is designed to teach golfers to play the game from a hole out perspective. Each golfer will be issued a profile in the Operation 36 Mobile App to track progress through a six-level curriculum that is designed to set appropriate objectives and challenges helping each student toward shooting par or better (score of 36) for 9 holes.
The Academies include one clinic each week and two 9-hole events each month, in which the golfers have a chance to shoot a score of 36 for 9 holes in their yardage division
Clinics are available for Junior Golfers (Ages 7-18) and Ladies. Clinics for Junior Golfers are divided by age groups.
PGA Junior League
Available for Junior Golfers, Ages 7-13
PGA Junior League is a nationwide program featuring a team vs. team format in a structured league for junior golfers ages 7-13. Golfers on the Chagrin Valley team will be paired up with each other and play a two-person scramble against a team from another golf club. Other participating clubs include The Country Club, Beechmont, and Canterbury. Included in this program are team practices, four matches against the competing clubs, and team jerseys and hats.
High School Junior Tour
Available for Junior Golfers Ages 14-18
This is a junior inter club tour for golfers in high school, ages (14-18). There are 8 participating golf clubs in the Greater Cleveland Area. Each club will form a team of 6 members to participate. They will play against members from other clubs in an 18 hole stroke play event. The event will work similar to a high school match, counting 4 of the best scores for a team total. (Example: all the #1 players will play together in the first group, #2’s in the second group, etc.)
This program includes 8 stroke play events that take place at the competing clubs facilities throughout the summer.
Ladies Rookie Club:
This program is designed for beginning ladies interested in learning the game. Held in a casual clinic style setting, players are introduced to the fundamentals of the swing, the short game, etiquette and customs of golf. The clinics are offered throughout the golf season in both the morning and evening to accommodate everyone’s schedule. Rookie Club will be led by our Assistant Golf Professional, Gina Battistone.
Sometimes, golfers of all ages benefit from one or more focused group clinics that target specific situational shots. Whether for bunkers, chips, flops, putting, high grass or hardpan shots – being on the range AND the course in a group setting is just what you need. Our team of professionals offer many different programs to focus on these areas throughout the season.
